Inertia

The children decorated their planes and had a small witch and her cat as passengers. The witch and the cat were characters from a story that we read. The students found that when they flew their planes that the witch and the cat just came off and fell straight to the ground. The force that was put on the plane was not applied to the passengers. So the passengers remained at rest (inertia) and gravity pulled them to the ground. The children were asked to come up with a way to keep the witch and her cat on the plane without gluing them on. These are some of our results.
