Hula Hoop Words
I put 5 hula hoops on the floor and each hula hoop had one of our spelling words inside it. Then I handed out a letter to each child. The students had to work together to make the words in the hula hoops. The hardest part was to make sure that the letters were in order from left to right so that I could read the words. We had a lot of backward words the first time we did this activity! However, the class quickly learned how to check to see if their letters were in order. We had a lot of fun practicing our spelling words.
